About the Image Recoloring Tool

Pick a source color from your image and a replacement color. Color Atlas shifts matching pixels in the CIELAB space so highlights, shadows and texture are preserved, with adjustable tolerance and soft edges. Compare before and after, undo, and download the result at full resolution — all locally in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Load an image (select, drop or paste).
  2. Click the image to choose the source color, or pick it from the dominant colors.
  3. Choose the replacement color.
  4. Adjust tolerance and edge softness while watching the live preview.
  5. Click Apply, compare with the slider, then download.

Examples

  • Preview a sofa in different fabric colors.
  • Change a logo color on a transparent PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Will it change other parts of the image?
Only pixels within the tolerance of the source color are changed. Similar colors elsewhere in the image may also match; lower the tolerance if needed.
Why does a complex photo need manual refinement?
Reflections, mixed lighting and similar colors in unrelated objects can match the source color. Use a lower tolerance or a photo editor with masks for perfect results.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes, the alpha channel is never modified.
What resolution is the download?
The original resolution, up to the configured device-safe limit; larger images are scaled down with a notice.
