Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using temporary email safely.

Is this service really free?

Yes. There is no registration and no paid plan. The service is supported by ads on public pages; ads are never placed inside your inbox or messages.

How long does my temporary address last?

You choose the lifetime when you create the address — for example 10 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours. A countdown shows the remaining time, and you can extend it a limited number of times. After that, the inbox and all messages are deleted permanently.

Can other people read my inbox if they know my address?

No. Access is granted by a random secret key stored in your browser, not by the address. Someone who knows or guesses the address cannot open your messages.

Can I send emails from a temporary address?

No. The service is receive-only by design. This prevents it from being used to send spam or impersonate people.

I closed my browser. Can I get my inbox back?

If you return in the same browser before the address expires, your inbox will still be there. If you cleared cookies, used private browsing or the time ran out, the inbox cannot be recovered — that is part of what keeps it private.

Why did my message not arrive?

Check that you copied the full address and that the inbox has not expired. Some websites block temporary email domains, and some senders delay delivery for a few minutes. Messages larger than the size limit are also refused.

Are attachments safe to open?

Attachments are checked for size and dangerous file types such as executables, which are blocked. However, no automatic check is perfect. Only open files from senders you trust.

Why are images hidden in some emails?

Remote images are often used as tracking pixels that reveal when and where you opened a message. We block them by default. Click “Load images” if you trust the sender.

Can I choose my own address?

Yes, if the option is enabled. Click “Change”, type the name you want and pick a domain. Every address can be used only once, so a name that was used before may not be available.

Will an expired address ever be given to someone else?

No. Addresses are not recycled. Once an address has been issued it will not be handed to another visitor, so nobody else can receive mail that was meant for you.
